Woodbridge Closes Yamada-Vistamex Joint Venture

October 31, 2011

New Haven, Connecticut – October 31, 2011 – Woodbridge is pleased to announce the completion of a joint venture agreement between its client Yamada Electric and Mexico-based Servicios Vistamex, S.A. de C.V.

Yamada Electric is a leading contract manufacturer headquartered in Chiba, Japan with operations in Shenzhen, China. The joint venture with Servicios Vistamex gives Yamada expanded production capacity and proximity to key clients and brings a new customer base to Vistamex.

Yamada specializes in precision molding, zinc die casting, decorating and assembly primarily for the consumer products industry. Vistamex operates a 75,000 square-foot facility in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico that manufactures injection molded precision plastic parts and other types of assemblies for household appliances and the automotive industry.

“We started from a list of about 100 potential targets,” said Jorge Colin, Director, Woodbridge Mexico.” We screened those down to 12 companies meeting Yamada’s criteria for a joint venture partner. Then we explored those further to ensure the owners, management team and facilities, and especially product quality, were all going to be a fit.”

Woodbridge visited a number of these potential partners, and at the end of the selection process, presented three viable candidates to Yamada.

The new company will operate as Yamada-Vistamex in the Guanajuato location.
